Now that you’ve more explored judged sports, hopefully, you are ready to take action. Through this work, we have compiled a list of athlete, parent, and coaching strategies that are uniquely suited for these sports.
Skill based goals are goals that revolve around doing a specific skill for the first time, in place of achieving a score. This helps athletes track their progress independently of results.

Athletes describe the best outcome when both their parents and coaches consistently accept results, even when the results do seem unfair.
Accepting the results.
When athletes know what the judge's are looking for it can make it easier to accept the results. One easy way to do this is to have improved rubrics that can be easily accessed by athletes, parents and coaches.

Improved training for both coaches and judge's would help make eliminate bias, which in turn would make results easier to accept.
Better sport-specific training.
Having strong core values in the organizations that support these children is vital. A culture of positivity will keep people coming back to these sports.
